The Roxy Theatre, – December 12, 2015 – Show starts at: 08:00 PM
One of Canada’s finest indie bands, LOWEST OF THE LOW, is bringing their reunion show to Barrie on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. Presented by Inside the Music, the group that inspired countless indie rockers will be performing at The Roxy Sideroom in downtown Barrie with an opening set by Ron Hawkins & Lawrence Nichols.
Lowest of the Low is a well-known Canadian alternative rock group that was formed in 1991 in Toronto. Coming out of the Queen St. West scene they were one of the most influential bands on the Canadian alternative music scene in the 90’s, garnering widespread critical acclaim and radio play. Their debut album, ‘Shakespeare My Butt,’ was hugely successful, becoming one of Canada’s biggest selling independent records. However, their success was short lived. The band broke up shortly after releasing their second album, Hallucigenia, in 1994.
The group’s most successful album, Shakespeare My Butt’, was later named one of the ten greatest albums in Canadian music history in three successive reader polls by the music magazine Chart, as well as being ranked as the 84th greatest Canadian album of all time in Bob Mersereau’s book The Top 100 Canadian Albums.
