Mady Centre – May 15, 2013 – Show starts at: 08:00 PM
Jason McCoy is a 25-year veteran of the entertainment industry, and a two-time Canadian Country Music Association ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’. Growing up in the small town of Minesing (just outside of Barrie), Jason admired the well-rounded artistry of classic country entertainers like Roger Miller, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Glen Campbell. Armed with a guitar and a dream, Jason set out at the age of 19 to follow his own path to stardom.
As a Country music artist, he’s racked up multiple CCMA, SOCAN, and CMA awards along with Gold albums. As creator and front man of the highest selling band in Canadian Country Music history, The Road Hammers, Jason took on the Country Rock genre and guided the band to unprecedented success throughout Canada and the United States, picking up a platinum album, CCMA Band of the Year award, and a Juno along the way.
The release of the album ‘Everything’ iin 2010, marked Jason’s first solo studio album since 2001, and spawned the top 10 hit, ‘She’s Good for Me’, as well as the title track ‘I’d Still Have Everything’. Expect McCoy to perform some of his latest tracks as well as his classic hits in this intimate, up close acoustic concert.
Equally comfortable in the studio or on the stage Jason McCoy has reinvented himself time and again to become a bonafide all round entertainer. Jason continues to write and record music, and prizes the time he spends with his wife, Terrine, and their two children at their home farm, just two miles from the small town of Minesing where it all began.
